Meet our board and dedicated volunteer staff working to transform communities and empower students in Seattle/Tacoma, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and Guam.

Zach Banner, President

USC All-American and current Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle, Zach Banner is the President and founder of the B3 Foundation.

Born and raised in Tacoma, WA by a close-knit family, Zach learned at a young age to value education, community and generosity. As his football career accelerated, he maintained his focus on giving back to the community that raised him. When he was drafted in 2017, Zach’s first priority was to form a nonprofit focused on mentorship and education for students in Tacoma, Los Angeles, and Guam. Since its founding, the B3 Foundation has provided over 2,000 filled backpacks for students in need, launched a growing mentorship program in Zach’s hometown and a scholarship fund to support greater access to higher education for students of color.

Sarah was part of the founding Board of Directors for the B3 Foundation and continues to help shape the growth of the foundation through partnerships, programming and fundraising. Laura Okmin, Senior Board Member – Communications Chair

For nearly 30 years Laura Okmin has been covering the biggest names in sports on the biggest stages. But what Laura is most known for, and most proud of, is the connections she has cultivated over two decades of building relationships … not sources. Trust has been the foundation of every interview she conducts, the content she creates with her production company – and now her company leading the next generation of women sports broadcasters.

Laura is the founder of GALVANIZE, a nonprofit organization created to empower and support women in sports. The third-longest tenured sideline reporter in NFL history, Okmin is also the founder of LO Productions where she produces powerful profiles on the NFL’s biggest names. An outspoken advocate for justice and equality in sports, Laura joined the B3 Foundation Board because the mission resonated with her own purpose.
