One of the newest ways fans can access their favorite celebrities is Cameo, an app that allows you to buy personalized videos from athletes, musicians, actors and more. But when the COVID-19 crisis hit, Zach Banner wanted to do more with his Cameo platform than just bringing smiles to fans’ faces. Since mid-March, Banner has committed to donating all of his proceeds to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank.

We are thrilled that this year we were able to officially launch our high school mentorship program in partnership with the Lakes High School football team in Lakewood, WA. Lakes High School was a natural starting partnership for us as Zach is an alumnus, and head coach Dave Miller shares our commitment to developing young student-athletes not just on the football field but as well-rounded men. The purpose of our mentorship program is to support students by teaching and demonstrating the important characteristics and values of community leaders. We strive to create a safe space in which students can discuss their lives, grow and set goals for themselves and learn from the wisdom and encouragement of older community mentors.
Since the launching of our foundation we’ve dreamed of being able to provide students in our focus cities with much-needed school supplies and backpacks each fall. We know the burden that back-to-school can place on families and the critical nature of supporting students in their academic pursuits.
My second stop of the offseason was back home to Tacoma. A time for me to visit family, friends and further develop the project we want to work on in the city in 2018.
